A hairline transplant in Lebanon rebuilds the front edge of the scalp with your own hair from the back of the head. At Healthy Beauty Clinic, the new hairline is drawn for your age, face shape and expected future loss, with fine single-hair grafts at the edge. A typical hairline restoration uses 1,200 to 1,800 grafts.

What is a hairline transplant?

A hairline transplant is a hair transplant focused on the front of the scalp: the hairline itself, the temple corners and the area just behind them, often called the frontal zone.

Grafts are taken from the donor area at the back and sides of the head, where hair is usually resistant to pattern hair loss. They are then implanted along a line that is designed before surgery.

It is usually requested by men with a receding hairline, and by women with a high or wide forehead. It is also the zone that changes how a face looks the most, which is why the design matters as much as the surgery.

How is a natural hairline designed?

A natural hairline is planned, not copied from a photo. Five factors decide where it goes and how it looks.

1. Your age

A hairline that suits a 22-year-old will look out of place at 50. Adult men naturally move from a straight "juvenile" hairline to a slightly higher "mature" hairline with gentle temple recession. A good design respects where your face is heading, not only where it is today.

2. Your face shape and proportions

The hairline frames the face. Its height, width and curve are matched to your forehead, brow position and face shape. A broad, flat line can widen a narrow face; a line set too low can shorten a long one in an unnatural way.

3. Future hair loss

Pattern hair loss usually continues after a transplant in the hair that was not moved. If the new hairline is placed too low and too dense, a gap can appear behind it years later. Planning for your likely future pattern, and for your donor supply, protects the result over time.

4. Single-hair grafts at the edge

A real hairline is not a sharp line. It starts with a soft "transition zone" of single hairs, then thickens behind it. Natural-looking work uses fine single-hair grafts at the very front edge, with two- and three-hair grafts placed further back for density.

5. Angle and direction

Front hairs grow forward at a low angle, close to the scalp, and the direction changes slightly near the temples. Grafts implanted too upright stand up like bristles and catch the light. Matching the natural angle is one of the clearest signs of skilled work.

Why do low, straight hairlines look fake?

Most "obvious" transplants share the same mistakes:

  • Too low: a hairline brought down close to the eyebrows looks youthful for a short time and unnatural for the rest of your life.
  • Too straight: real hairlines have small irregularities and a soft zigzag at the edge. A ruler-straight line reads as artificial from across a room.
  • Temples filled in completely: most adult men keep some temple recession. Closing the corners fully can look like a wig line.
  • Large grafts at the front: multi-hair grafts at the edge create a "doll's hair" or pluggy look.
  • Wrong angle: upright grafts show the scalp between them and do not lie with the rest of the hair.

A slightly higher, softer, irregular line nearly always looks better, and it keeps donor grafts in reserve for later.

Is DHI better for the hairline?

DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) uses the Choi pen to implant each graft directly, without opening channels first. The pen gives the doctor full control over the angle, depth and direction of every graft, which is why it suits detailed hairline work and dense packing at the front.

DHI can also be done without shaving the whole head, which many hairline patients prefer. FUE remains a good option in many cases, and both techniques share the same extraction method. The right choice depends on your hair, the area to cover and your goals. For the technical detail, read our DHI hair transplant guide or the DHI page.

Technique is only a tool. The hairline design and graft handling decide the result.

How many grafts does a hairline need?

Graft numbers depend on how far the hairline has receded, the size of the area, your hair thickness and the density you want. As planning ranges:

Situation Typical graft range
Mild temple recession (Norwood 2) 1,000 - 1,500 grafts
Typical hairline restoration 1,200 - 1,800 grafts
Deep temple recession (Norwood 3) 1,500 - 2,500 grafts

These are ranges, not quotes. Fine hair, or dark hair on light skin, usually needs more grafts; thick or curly hair covers more area per graft. Your exact number is set after a doctor examines your scalp and donor area. See how many grafts do I need for the full Norwood guide.

How much does a hairline transplant cost in Lebanon?

In 2026, a hair transplant in Lebanon at Healthy Beauty Clinic costs between $2,000 and $6,000. FUE ranges from $2,000 to $4,500, and DHI with the Choi pen from $2,500 to $6,000. The graft count is the biggest driver of price.

Packages include the free consultation, blood tests, anesthesia, post-op medication and a 12-month follow-up. Full details are on the hair transplant cost in Lebanon page.

Who is a good candidate for a hairline transplant?

  • Men with a receding hairline whose loss pattern is becoming clear.
  • Women with a naturally high forehead or frontal thinning, after the cause of hair loss is checked. See hair transplant for women.
  • People with a healthy donor area at the back and sides of the head.
  • Patients with realistic expectations about density and future loss.

Very young men need extra care. Their final pattern is not yet known, so the design is usually more conservative, and medical treatment to protect existing hair may be suggested. Read the best age for a hair transplant. A doctor must assess every individual case before any plan is final.

How is the hairline planned at Healthy Beauty Clinic?

  1. Free consultation: we examine your scalp, measure donor density and talk about the look you want.
  2. Drawing the line: the hairline is drawn on your forehead and agreed with you in the mirror before anything is decided.
  3. Written plan: you get the technique, graft count and price in writing.
  4. Procedure day: single-hair grafts go at the edge, denser grafts behind, at the natural angle.
  5. Follow-up: we follow you for 12 months; the final result appears between 12 and 18 months.

Procedures are led by Dr. Hala Ashkar (also written Dr. Hala Achkar). In September 2026 she earned a Diploma in Hair & Eyebrow Transplantation from The British Academy of Continuing Medical Education (BACME), after a one-year programme at The Doctors Academy in Cairo with 400 hours of Category 1 CME credit. She also holds a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine from the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine (CBAM), awarded in June 2025. Hairline design rests on two skills: reading facial proportions and placing fine grafts precisely.

When will I see my new hairline?

The transplanted hairs usually shed between weeks 2 and 8. New fine hairs appear around months 3 to 4, density improves visibly from months 5 to 8, and the final hairline shows between 12 and 18 months. Most people return to work within 5 to 7 days. Follow the stages in results after one year, and see real cases on our results page.

Frequently asked questions

How many grafts do I need for a hairline transplant?

A typical hairline restoration uses about 1,200 to 1,800 grafts. Mild temple recession may need 1,000 to 1,500 grafts, while deeper recession can need 1,500 to 2,500. Your exact number depends on the area, your hair thickness and your donor supply, and is set after a doctor examines you.

Will a hairline transplant look natural?

It can look fully natural when the line is designed for your age and face and placed with fine single-hair grafts at the edge, at a low forward angle. Hairlines usually look fake when they are set too low, too straight or built with large grafts at the front. Ask to see the line drawn on your forehead before you agree to the procedure.

Can a hairline transplant fix a receding hairline permanently?

Transplanted hair comes from the donor area and usually keeps growing for life. However, the original hair that was not transplanted can keep thinning over time. That is why the design plans for future loss, and why a doctor may suggest treatment to protect your existing hair.

Is DHI or FUE better for the hairline?

DHI uses the Choi pen to implant each graft directly, which gives full control over angle, depth and direction and suits detailed hairline work. It can also be done without shaving the whole head. FUE is still a good option in many cases, so the choice is made with the doctor after examining your hair.
