Who is Dr. Hala Ashkar?
Dr. Hala Ashkar is the medical director of Healthy Beauty Clinic (المركز اللبناني التركي لزراعة الشعر). Her name appears in two spellings, Ashkar and Achkar, and in Arabic as الدكتورة هالة عشقر. All three refer to the same doctor.
She has worked in hair transplantation for more than 20 years, with training in Lebanon and Turkey. Her daily work covers men's and women's hair transplants, beard transplants and eyebrow transplants.
Her main techniques are DHI with the Choi pen and FUE. She also offers no-shave DHI for patients who cannot take time off with a shaved head. You can read how the technique works in our DHI hair transplant page.
What qualifications does Dr. Hala Achkar hold?

Diploma in Hair & Eyebrow Transplantation (BACME, 2026)
This is a one-year programme dedicated to hair and eyebrow transplantation. It ran from 1 September 2025 to 1 September 2026 at The Doctors Academy in Cairo, and it is accredited for 400 hours of Category 1 continuing medical education (CME) credit.
CME means structured training that doctors take after medical school to keep their skills current. For a hair transplant doctor, that covers newer approaches to graft extraction, implantation and eyebrow work.
You can open the BACME certificate to check the dates, the hours and the transcript number yourself.
Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine (CBAM, 2025)
On 13 June 2025, Dr. Hala received a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine from the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine. It was awarded after she completed the theoretical, practical and examination parts of the programme.
Aesthetic medicine matters in hair work because a transplant is also a design job. The hairline, the eyebrow shape and the angle of each hair have to suit the face. The CBAM diploma is published here as an image.
Why does continuing training matter for a hair transplant doctor?
Hair transplantation keeps changing. Tools, implantation methods and graft handling have all evolved over the last decade.
A doctor who keeps training is more likely to know which technique fits which patient. That said, a diploma on its own is not a guarantee of a good result. It is one piece of evidence among several.
The other pieces are the clinic's licence, the doctor's own before-and-after results, and a clear answer to one question: who actually does the procedure?
What does a doctor-led hair transplant mean?
A doctor-led hair transplant means a licensed physician makes the medical decisions and performs the critical surgical steps. In a technician-led model, those steps are handed to staff who are not doctors, sometimes with the doctor barely in the room.
Professional hair restoration societies have warned patients about procedures run mainly by unlicensed technicians. The reason is simple: the surgical steps decide how many grafts survive, how the donor area heals and how natural the result looks.
| Step | Why a doctor should lead it |
|---|---|
| Diagnosis | Not all hair loss should be transplanted. Some causes need medical treatment first. |
| Donor area assessment | The donor supply is limited. Over-harvesting can leave a thin, patchy back of the head. |
| Hairline and graft plan | The design must suit your face and your future hair loss, not only how you look today. |
| Extraction and implantation | Angle, depth and spacing decide whether the result looks natural. |
| Follow-up | Problems such as infection or poor growth need a medical judgement. |

Does Dr. Hala perform the hair transplant herself?
Yes. At Healthy Beauty Clinic, Dr. Hala Ashkar personally performs the procedures. Her medical team supports her during the day, under her supervision.
She also sees patients at the consultation stage. That means the doctor who examines your scalp and draws your hairline is the same doctor who carries out the plan.
After the procedure, every patient is followed for 12 months. You can send photos to the clinic on WhatsApp at any stage of your recovery.
Is Healthy Beauty Clinic licensed in Lebanon?
Yes. Healthy Beauty Clinic is licensed by the Lebanese Ministry of Health. A licence means the clinic works under official medical regulation, which is the first thing any patient should check.
How do I check a hair transplant doctor in Lebanon?
Whichever clinic you choose, these checks take a few minutes and protect you:
- Ask for the doctor's full name. Then ask whether that doctor will perform your procedure.
- Ask to see qualifications. A serious clinic will show certificates, not just mention them.
- Check the clinic's licence. In Lebanon, ask whether it is licensed by the Ministry of Health.
- Ask who does each step. Who extracts the grafts? Who implants them? Who designs the hairline?
- See that doctor's own results. Before-and-after photos should come from the same clinic.
- Get a written plan. It should state the technique, the estimated graft count and the full price.

What happens at a consultation with Dr. Hala Ashkar?
The first consultation is free. Dr. Hala examines your scalp and donor area, asks about your medical history and looks for the cause of your hair loss.
Not everyone is a candidate. If your hair loss is early, or if the cause is medical, she may suggest treatment such as PRP or medication first. A doctor must assess each case individually before any surgery is planned.
If a transplant suits you, you leave with a recommended technique, an estimated graft count and a price. In 2026, a hair transplant at the clinic costs $2,000 to $6,000: FUE from $2,000 to $4,500 and DHI with the Choi pen from $2,500 to $6,000. See the full hair transplant cost in Lebanon page.
